The Portland Business Journal reports on Open law Library’s mission to make the law more accessible. According to the article:
Despite the fact we live in a democracy governed by the rule of law, our laws are not all that open or accessible.
Most of the accessibility problems that arise are due to the high costs of legal publishing. Publishers typically provide very low quality free websites for personal use only. Governments, nonprofits and other organizations often don’t have the financial capacity to pay for higher-quality resources.
